In AHL minor league hockey action, Grand Rapids Griffins defenseman Ryan Sproul scored a second period goal with a bank shot off the back glass during Wednesday night's 5-3 victory over the Lake Erie Monsters.
On a 3-on-2 breakaway, Sproul sent a shot over the crossbar and off the back glass, but the puck ended up bouncing off the back of Lake Erie's goaltender and trickled into the net.
It was Sproul's first goal of the year. Just like he called it. Yeah, right. Let's see him try that one again.
