Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton's "Superman" celebration after a 2-yard touchdown run sparked a brawl with the New Orleans Saints during the first quarter of Sunday's game in the Superdome.
After the TD, Newton appeared to taunt Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan with a little "up, up and away" flying leap. Newton then turned to face the crowd for his normal "Superman" move when he was pushed from behind by Saints linebacker Curtis Lofton.
After Newton's teammates jumped in to protect their quarterback, things escalated quickly:
Punches began flying, with players busting through closed doors behind the goalpost and into the tunnel.
Fortunately things died down after about 15 seconds and no one slipped and got hurt on that concrete. Some of the biggest punches were thrown by Panthers tight end Brandon Williams, who was flagged with a personal foul for fighting and ejected from the game.
In the end, the Panthers crushed the Saints as they won the game 41-10.
