Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Dalton Prout took a slap shot to the groin during Tuesday night's game against Philadelphia.
Prout got down on one knee to block the shot from Flyers center Zac Rinaldo, which hit him right in the crotch. Naturally, Prout headed right for the bench with the help of one of the referees.
Based on Prout's ability to skate off the ice under his own power (for the most part), we're pretty sure that he was wearing his cup. As St. Louis Blues goalie Brian Elliot proved last month, it's not safe to leave that part of the body unprotected.
