A leak in the roof of the Barclays Center caused a "rain delay" during the second quarter of Tuesday night's Brooklyn Nets game against the visiting Miami Heat.

You wouldn't expect rain to cause a delay in an NBA game that is played indoors, but it's especially embarrassing for the Nets considering that they play in an arena that is less than three years old.
Nets staffers scrambled to protect the court with buckets to catch the raindrops while front office executives assessed the situation to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
The game resumed after 29 minutes, after which time the Barclays Center Twitter account issued this statement:
Tonight's delay was caused by a water leak due to the installation of our new green roof. We've taken all necessary steps to rectify.

It just so happens that the NHL's New York Islanders will be moving into the Barclays Center next season. Given that their current home arena, the Nassau Coliseum, has had issues with a leaky roof for years, this incident should make them feel right at home.
H/T FTW.
