According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Buffalo Bills are in the process of finalizing a deal to sign Rex Ryan as their next head coach.
The Bills found themselves in the position of having to hire a new head coach back on December 31st when Doug Marrone opted out of his contract after two seasons. After interviewing 12 different candidates, the Bills held a second interview with Ryan on Saturday night which apparently helped close the deal.
Schefter also reports that Ryan is expected to hire Greg Roman from the San Francisco 49ers to be his offensive coordinator. This would seem to conflict with earlier reports which indicated that Ryan was considering former Chicago Bears head coach Marc Trestman for the OC position.
Ryan spent the last six seasons as head coach of the New York Jets before being fired at the end of the season.
