New York Knicks point guard Jose Calderon had an unexpected encounter with a frisky fan in the front row during the second half of Friday night's game at MSG.
It happened with 2:57 remaining in the third quarter as the Knicks trailed 75-46. Calderon barreled over a cameraman behind the baseline while the Pistons grabbed a defensive rebound and began heading down the court on offense. However, before Calderon could get up, a gentleman in a red shirt put his arms around him and began patting him in the chest.
Calderon became angry and began yelling at the fan, as not only was the ball still live, but the uninvited contact seemed a bit inappropriate. After the game, Calderon couldn't understand what the fan was doing:
“I don’t know,” Calderon said later. “He didn’t let me keep going. I was trying to stand up, but he [held] me, loved me or something. I have no idea.”Looks like the Knicks players could use some extra security. They have enough to contend with outside of touchy-feely fans.
