Boston Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask accidentally slashed Chicago Blackhawks right winger Kris Versteeg after giving up a goal in the final seconds of the first period during Sunday's game at the United Center.
After giving up a goal to Jonathan Toews with just 1.4 seconds left in the first period (just six seconds into a power play), Rask was angry at himself and slammed the post with his hockey stick. Unfortunately, Versteeg happened to be skating by and Rask caught him with the end of his stick, knocking him down.
Rask was penalized two minutes for delay of game and two minutes for slashing, with his time in the penalty box served by teammates Milan Lucic and Brad Marchand. Fortunately, the penalties didn't cost the Bruins in the end as they beat the Blackhawks 6-2.
