ESPN analyst Jeff Van Gundy worked some pop culture into Wednesday night's NBA broadcast by comparing the Oklahoma City Thunder to pop band One Direction during Wednesday night's game against San Antonio.
Specifically, Gundy used Zayn Malik's departure from the band as a reference point to praise the Thunder's ability to compete despite superstar Kevin Durant missing extended time with injuries.
Unfortunately, the Thunder weren't able to compete with the Spurs last night, getting blown out in a 130-91 loss. As for One Direction, they will move forward with the remaining four members, and time will tell how the change impacts their future.
