Boston Red Sox first baseman Mike Napoli hit a monster home run despite breaking his bat during the fourth inning of Monday night's Grapefruit League spring training game against Minnesota.
The barrel of the bat landed all the way at third base, yet the ball carried all the way to the seats above the outfield wall in left-center field, which happens to be 44 feet high. An impressive display of strength.
According to the AP, Napoli had this to say after the game:
"It was a weird feeling," Napoli said. "I think the bat might have broken the last time I was up because it just exploded in my hands."The homer started a six-run rally for the Red Sox as they went on to blow out the Twins 14-2.
