Penn State Nittany Lions senior guard D.J. Newbill was given what may be the worst foul call in the history of college basketball during Wednesday night's Big Ten conference game against Ohio State.
Newbill was trailing his teammate on a fast break when he was blatantly shoved aside by Buckeyes center Amir Williams, yet somehow the officials called Newbill for the foul.
The officials for this game were D.J. Carstensen, Chris Beaver and Donnie Eppley. We need one of them to step forward and explain this call. How could they call a foul on Newbill when he was the one that was pushed? Granted that Newbill may have embellished a bit, but if the foul wasn't on Williams, isn't that just a no-call?
