Winnipeg Jets defenseman Dustin Byfuglien will likely be seeing some supplemental discipline from the NHL after cross-checking New York Rangers center J.T. Miller in the back of the head during Tuesday night's game at the MTS Centre.
Miller was trying to play the puck in front of Jets goalie Ondrej Pavelec, but fell to the ice. Before Miller could get up, Byfuglien delivered the cheap shot. Fortunately, Miller was able to stay in the game.
No penalty was called on the play as somehow the referees missed this one, but it's hard to believe that the league will let it slide.
UPDATE: Byfuglien has been suspended four games.
