Winnipeg Jets defenseman Dustin Byfuglien sucker-punched Anaheim Ducks right winger Corey Perry after he scored a goal in the second period of Monday night's Game 3 of their first round playoff series.
Perry lost Byfuglien as he skated around the zone and got himself open for the shot, and Byfuglien punched him in the back of the head right after Perry put the shot into the net. Byfuglien was given a two minute minor penalty for roughing.
Given that it was only a few weeks back that Byfuglien cross-checked J.T. Miller in the head, this behavior continues a disturbing pattern of behavior. Someone needs to talk some sense into Byfuglien before someone gets seriously injured.
In the meantime, the Ducks beat the Jets in OT 5-4 to take a commanding 3-0 series lead.
