Cyclists taking part in Sunday's Paris-Roubaix race found themselves facing an unexpected obstacle as the main group approached a set of train tracks at the same time as a high-speed train was approaching.
Several dozen cyclists were more than willing to take their lives into their own hands by ducking under the barriers (or riding around them) in order to stay with the pack, leading to this crazy scene:
The main group became split into those that made it across the track and those that had to wait for the train to pass.
Maybe next year if those in charge of the Paris-Roubaix can make an adjustment to the course to avoid train crossings or, at the very least, check the train schedule ahead of time and plan the race around it accordingly. The racers have enough things to worry about.
H/T FTW.
