Golden State Warriors guard Shaun Livingston was assessed a flagrant-1 foul during the third quarter of Saturday night's game against Dallas for fouling Mavericks big man Dirk Nowitzki in the groin.
Nowitzki was dribbling the ball with his back to Livingston when he was hit below the belt. It's unclear what Livingston was attempting to accomplish with the low blow.
After the game, Nowitzki was willing to forgive Livingston and give him "the benefit of the doubt", but the Mavs weren't ready to let it go so easily. Mavs owner Mark Cuban went so far as to confront Warriors coach Steve Kerr after the game about the incident when Livingston interrupted the conversation to explain that the contact was "accidental".
UPDATE: The NBA has suspended Livingston for one game.
