In minor league baseball news, the Charlotte Stone Crabs (class A afflilate of the Tampa Bay Rays) play the Tampa Yankees Friday night, and in honor of the occasion, they planned a special promotion called "A-Rod Juice Box Night".
As part of the promotion, the first 500 fans to the park would receive a juice box with the following label:
The promotion was an obvious jab at embattled slugger Alex Rodriguez. However, the New York Yankees didn't take too kindly to it, and have apparently been successful in forcing the Stone Crabs to cancel the whole thing. Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times has the details:
