Brandon Prust tosses elbow pad at Lightning bench after ejection (Video)

Montreal Canadiens forward Brandon Prust tossed his elbow pad at the Tampa Bay Lightning bench in frustration after being ejected in the final minutes of Sunday night's Game 2 of their Eastern Conference playoff series.

The Habs were down 6-2 with under two minutes remaining in the game when Prust tripped Lightning goaltender Ben Bishop, then followed it up by dropping his gloves to fight Lightning defenseman Braydon Coburn. In the process, Prust earned himself two minutes for tripping, five minutes for fighting and ten minutes for misconduct, along with a 10 minute game misconduct penalty leading to his ejection.

Prust was escorted off the ice by referee Ben Watson, but not before tossing his elbow pad at the Lightning bench. Steven Stamkos, who earned the No. 1 star of the game, tossed it into the stands for a Habs fan to take home as a souvenir.

After the game, Prust claimed that Watson provoked him and called him some nasty names. These comments will certainly be looked into, as it's never good for a player to be publicly ripping an official, regardless of the circumstances.
