Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper was ejected from Wednesday's game against Arizona after getting into the home plate umpire's face to argue a strike three call on a check swing.
It happened in the top of the seventh with two outs and the game tied at 5-5. Harper tried to check his swing on a 2-2 pitch, but home plate umpire Rod Drake made the strike three call. Harper was furious that Drake did not defer the call to the third base umpire and was tossed immediately when he began yelling in Drake's face.
Nationals manager Matt Williams stepped in afterwards to continue the argument on behalf of Harper, but he was also tossed.
Fortunately, the Nationals rallied for four runs in the ninth to come away with a 9-6 victory.
