IRS official Richard Weber described the scandal leading to the arrest of several top FIFA officials and other corporate executives as the "World Cup of fraud" during a press conference Wednesday discussing the corruption charges.
In the same sentence, Weber went on to say that FIFA was being issued a "red card" for their behavior.
Not sure if that was the right time or place for a joke like that. However, some would say that the governing body of FIFA is, in itself, a joke, so maybe Weber's word play wasn't as inappropriate in that context.
