Jameson Axford, the 2-year-old son of Colorado Rockies relief pitcher John Axford, threw out the ceremonial first pitch at Friday night's Colorado Rockies game. Axford's wife wheeled Jameson to the mound for the first pitch while his big brother handed him the baseball in a touching moment for the family.

Prior to the game, Axford's "bullpen family" got a chance to meet Jameson and spend some quality time with him.

Jameson was bitten by a rattlesnake bite at a home that Axford was renting in Arizona during spring training. Jameson has been in intensive care and is still facing some upcoming surgery, but is doing much better. We pass along our best wishes to Jameson during his recovery.
