San Francisco Giants pitcher Madison Bumgarner helped his cause with a solo home run against Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw during the third inning of Thursday's game at AT&T Park.
Given that Clayton Kershaw won the National League MVP and Cy Young Award last year, Bumgarner's HR was an impressive feat.
Bumgarner pitched 6 1/3 innings and struck out six, earning the win as the Giants beat the Dodgers 4-0. The Dodgers did not score a single run against the Giants as they were swept in the three-game series.
