The Los Angeles Dodgers earned a walk-off win in unconventional fashion Thursday night as Texas Rangers rookie reliever Keone Kela was called for a balk with a runner on third in the bottom of the ninth.
Kela was in the stretch when Dodgers pinch runner Enrique Hernandez pretended to break for home. Hernandez stopped after a few steps, but it was enough to throw off Kela and make him turn his shoulder ever so slightly, triggering the balk call.
Hernandez was the only man to cross the plate in the game as the Dodgers won 1-0. As for the Rangers, that's a tough way to lose.
