Giancarlo Stanton will be forced to miss 4-6 weeks after breaking his left hand during Friday night's Miami Marlins game against the Los Angeles Dodgers, apparently from swinging so hard.
Video shows that Stanton shook off some soreness in his left hand after a hard swing during his sixth inning at-bat. However, Stanton grimaced in pain after completing his follow through after a big swing and a miss while striking out in the ninth.
Stanton leads the major leagues with 27 home runs and 67 RBI. With the Marlins already 15 games below .500, this will most certainly wipe away any remaining hopes they had for playoff contention this season.
