Tampa Bay Rays right fielder Steven Souza Jr. hit a bunt single that turned into a Little League-style home run after the Washington Nationals committed two errors on the play during the eighth inning of Wednesday night's game in D.C.
With two outs and a runner on first, Souza used the heavy rain to his advantage with a bunt to the left side of the infield. Nats reliever Blake Treinen fielded it barehanded, but threw the ball over the first baseman's head, allowing Souza to head all the way to third. As the lead runner headed towards home, Bryce Harper's throw to the catcher was wide, which cleared the way for Souza to come around to score.
The play was officially scored a hit for Souza, with errors charged to Treinen and Harper. The Rays won the game 5-0.
