Bryce Harper displayed his American patriotism by coming to the plate with a bat decorated with stars and stripes in the first inning of the Washington Nationals' Independence Day game. Appropriately enough, Harper hit a 2-run homer.
Harper went 3-for-4 on the day, with a double and that home run, to help lead the Nats to a 9-3 game over San Francisco. For having to work on the Fourth of July, Harper certainly made the most of the day.
