Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Kevin Kiermaier dove backwards onto the ground after being startled by a pigeon during the 12th inning of Friday night's game in the Bronx.
Kiermaier had just hit a single to center field to drive in a run and give the Rays a 4-3 lead over the New York Yankees. Kiermaier had just finished unstrapping his leg pad when he saw the pigeon out of the corner of his eye flying in his direction and instinctively got out of the way.
You don't see that every day. Hopefully Kiermaier didn't have any nightmares last night.
