An Argentinian soccer goalkeeper was responsible for one of the worst own goals of all time by tossing the ball directly into his own net.
In third tier soccer action, Comunicaciones goalie Rodrigo Cervetti had the ball under his control with no pressure. Cervetti took his time and was planning to lob the ball to his teammate, but inexplicably threw the ball backwards, with no one to save him from total embarrassment.
Not surprisingly, Comunicaciones never recovered as the own goal set the tone for the rest of the match. Atlanta went on to win 5-0.
