Melvin Upton Jr. broke his bat over his knee after striking out in the eighth inning of Friday night's San Diego Padres game in Philadelphia.
It was the second straight time that Upton struck out swinging. Upton didn't fare any better with a new bat the next time around, as he struck out looking in the 11th inning.
Not sure how baseball players manage to break wooden bats like that, but it's always fascinating to watch.
It was one of those days for Upton, who finished the game 0-for-5 as the Padres lost to the Phillies 4-3 in 12 innings.
