Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll was accidentally knocked over by a referee as Tyler Lockett ran a kickoff return for a touchdown during the second quarter of Friday night's preseason game against Denver.
Carroll had his eye on Lockett, who ran 103 yards for the score, but didn't see the referee sprinting down the sideline towards him a few yards ahead of the play. By the time Carroll tried to get out of the way, it was too late, and he took the brunt of the collision.
Fortunately Carroll was OK. Hopefully next time he'll stand a few yards back and give the referee room to roam. Chalk it up to a painful lesson learned.
