Vancouver Canucks defenseman Yannick Weber accidentally knocked a referee down to the ice during Tuesday night's NHL preseason game against San Jose.
It happened in the third period as the Sharks cleared the puck from their own end on a Canucks power play. Weber was chasing the puck back to his own end when linesman Dan Henderson drifted into his path near center ice, apparently thinking Weber was going to squeeze by along the boards.
Instead, Weber charged right into him and ran him over, laying him out flat on the ice.
Fortunately, Henderson was OK. In fact, he got right back up to drop the puck for the next faceoff.
It is the preseason after all, which goes for the official. Weber and Henderson will be back in their rhythm soon enough.
