Toronto FC forward Jozy Altidore received a straight red card in the 33rd minute of Wednesday night's MLS match against the NY Red Bulls...while he was sitting on the bench.
Altidore was ejected from the game for "abusing the assistant referee". After some initial confusion around who was to be tossed, Altidore headed to the locker room.
It was initially thought that Sebastian Giovinco was given the red card, which was fortunately not the case for Toronto FC. Giovinco entered the game in the second half and scored an incredible game-winning goal as Toronto beat the Red Bulls 2-1.
H/T FTW.
