Troy Tulowitzki ejected from ALCS Game 3 for arguing balls and strikes (Video)

Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Troy Tulowitzki was ejected from ALCS Game 3 as he came out to the field for the top of the eighth inning. Tulowitzki was thrown out for arguing a called third strike by home plate umpire John Hirschbeck in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Tulowitzki led off the bottom of the seventh with the Blue Jays leading the Kansas City Royals 10-4. The third strike to Tulowitzki was on the outside part of the plate and possibly was just outside the strike zone, but Hirschbeck called it a strike. The next batter, Russell Martin, was caught looking at a third strike in the exact same spot. A few looks and words were exchanged between the Blue Jays batters and Hirschbeck, but the game continued.

Tulowitzki was clearly stewing over the called third strike, as he made a few more comments to Hirschbeck as he walked out to shortstop to start the eighth. Hirschbeck had clearly reached his limit and tossed Tulowitzki, who had to be restrained by teammates and bench coach DeMarlo Hale.

The Blue Jays beat the Royals 11-8 to cut Kansas City's series lead to 2-1.
