University of Central Florida redshirt junior Hayden Jones handed two points to UConn with an embarrassing mistake on a kick return during the first quarter of Saturday's American Athletic Conference football game in Orlando.
Jones caught the kickoff about 2 yards deep in the end zone and took a step out when fellow kick returner Dontravious Wilson told Jones to take a knee. Jones stepped back into the end zone before taking a knee, which, unfortunately for UCF, is a safety.
It's been that kind of season for UCF, who are now 0-6 on the season after losing to UConn 40-13. It's hard to believe that this team beat Baylor in the Fiesta Bowl just two years ago.
H/T FTW.
