Penn State Nittany Lions quarterback Christian Hackenberg nailed a referee in the head with a pass during Saturday's Big Ten Conference football game against Northwestern.
It happened in the first minute of the game as Hackenberg was passing to one of his receivers on a crossing route in the middle of the field and didn't see the official standing there. The official saw the bullet pass coming at him and did all he could to try and get out of the way, but he just couldn't react fast enough to avoid being hit.
Fortunately, the referee was fine and was able to continue. As for Hackenberg, maybe he should have taken a few extra warmup tosses prior to the game.
