New England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola was tripped up by his own teammate on a punt return that would have been a touchdown during the third quarter of Sunday's game against the New York Giants.
With the Pats down 20-10, Amendola caught the punt on his own 11-yard line, broke a couple of tackles and got a couple of fantastic blocks from his Patriot teammates to set him free up the sideline. Amendola made it past the last two Giants tacklers and appeared to have a clear path to the end zone, but he angled towards the middle of the field and came too close to teammate Duron Harmon. Harmon tried to avoid Amendola, but they caught each others' feet, and Amendola fell down at the 10-yard line and was touched down at the 7-yard line.
Fortunately, the Patriots scored the touchdown a few plays later as LeGarrett Blount ran it in from the 1-yard line, but Amendola missed a golden opportunity. The Patriots came back to beat the Giants 27-26.
