Anaheim Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf committed a brutal mistake in overtime of Monday night's game against Arizona by literally giving the puck away to set up the breakaway game-winning goal for the Coyotes.
Getzlaf was slowly skating through the neutral zone just outside of the Coyotes neutral zone when he inexplicably tried to deliver a drop pass to a teammate when there were no Ducks anywhere near him. As a result, Getzlaf essentially served the puck on a silver platter to Coyotes left winger Mikael Boedker, who took advantage of the open ice and scored the breakaway goal for the 4-3 win.
