Top-ranked alpine skier Marcel Hirscher was nearly taken out by a falling drone camera in the middle of a slalom run Tuesday night.
Hirscher, the Austrian four-time reigning World Cup champion, was just 10 seconds into his second slalom run in Madonna di Campiglio, Italy, when the drone camera crash landed on the course just behind Hirscher, missing him by no more than a foot or two.
Hirscher was undeterred by the near miss and finished second overall in the competition, but expressed his obvious safety concerns after the race was over.
