In Serie A soccer action from Italy, Lazio goalkeeper Federico Marchetti injured himself while celebrating a goal by one of his teammates during Monday's match against Sampdoria.
Marchetti was working a shutout late in the second half when Alessandro Matri scored to give Lazio a 1-0 lead. Marchetti began sprinting out of the box to join his teammates in the celebration when he suddenly pulled up lame.
Marchetti had no choice but to call for a substitution. To make matters worse, Marchetti's replacement, Etrit Berisha, was booked for taking down an opposing player and gave up the tying goal on a free kick.
To put the icing on the cake, Marchetti's injury will keep him out of action for three to six weeks.
