A Canadian junior hockey referee stepped over the line by hitting a player in the face and pushing them down to the ice.
It happened as the referee and his fellow officials were breaking up a brawl between the two teams, one of them identified as the London Lakers. Just as it seemed that things had calmed down, the referee in question got tied up with one of the players. However, rather than just letting go, the referee hit the player in the face and pushed him down to the ice.
The referee then pushed one of the player's teammates in the face as he tried to defend him. At that point, a trainer on the team of the kids who were pushed in the face finally had enough, as he ran onto the ice and took down the ref.
We really don't know what the referee was thinking here, but we would hope that some kind of discipline would be heading his way.
