Dirk Nowitzki was the consummate professional in shaking off an embarrassing missed dunk after Tuesday night's game against Sacramento.
It happened in the first quarter as the ball was blown dead due to a Quincy Acy goaltend on a Chandler Parsons layup. Nowitzki grabbed the rebound right underneath the basket as the whistle blew, so he halfheartedly attempted the slam to have a little fun. Unfortunately, Nowitzki didn't jump anywhere near high enough and was stuffed by the rim, giving some trolls an opening to mock his apparent lack of jumping ability.
Nowitzki saw the Tweet after the game and had the perfect response:
The Mavericks beat the Kings 117-116 in double overtime, which probably made it easier for Nowitzki to laugh at himself.
H/T BDL.
