Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald sent heartfelt well wishes to ESPN NFL Insider Chris Mortensen after an overtime victory over Green Bay in Saturday night's NFC Divisional Playoff.
Fitzgerald played one of the best games of his career, with 8 catches for 176 yards and a touchdown as the Cardinals beat the Packers 26-20. However, it speaks volumes about the type of person Fitzgerald is that he used his postgame interview to send his best wishes to Mortensen, who announced this week that he was taking leave of his duties at ESPN to battle Stage IV throat cancer.
The gesture did not go unnoticed, as Mortensen sent his thanks to Fitzgerald via Twitter.
