A Carolina Panthers fan fell from the stands while celebrating a pick-six by linebacker Luke Kuechly during the fourth quarter of Sunday's NFC Championship game against Arizona.
Kuechly intercepted a pass from Cardinals QB Carson Palmer and ran it back 22 yards for the touchdown, making the score 49-15 and putting the exclamation point on a dominating Panthers performance. Kuechly gave high fives to some fans who were leaning over the railing in the front of the stands. Apparently one fan leaned too far over, as he flipped over the railing and onto the field, landing on his back.
Kuechly took a pause from his celebration to check on the fan. Fortunately, the fan only fell about seven feet, so he was able to stand up with some help from Kuechly. We would guess, however, that he may have been taken out of the stadium by security, as fans aren't allowed on the field at sporting events.
In addition to the pick-six, Kuechly also led the defense with eight tackles as the Panthers earned their place in Super Bowl 50.
H/T Shutdown.
