Buffalo Sabres center David Legwand scored a shorthanded goal from 150 feet away during the first period of Friday night's game against Columbus.
Legwand cleared the puck from the top of the face-off circle in his own end, lofting it down the ice towards the Blue Jackets net. The puck landed sideways by the hashmarks in the Blue Jackets zone, taking a funny bounce that resulted in a slight change in direction that fooled goaltender Joonas Korpisalo.
Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.
The long-range goal gave the Sabres a 2-0 lead, and they would go on to win the game 4-0. Korpisalo would be pulled after giving up the final Sabres goal halfway through the third period.
