Calgary Flames defenseman Deryk Engelland accidentally hit NHL referee Mike Leggo in the face with the puck during Wednesday night's game against Carolina.
It happened during the final minutes of the first period as Engelland was attempting to clear the puck along the boards from the defensive end.
Leggo left the game and did not return.
This comes just days after Flames defenseman Dennis Wideman cross-checked a linesman, earning himself a 20-game suspension from the league.
At this rate, referees are going to have to start asking for hazard pay to cover Flames games.
