New Jersey Devils center Joseph Blandisi earned an embellishment penalty with a hysterical flop during the first period of Tuesday night's game against Philadelphia.
Flyers defenseman Andrew MacDonald slashed Blandisi in the calf, earning himself a two minute minor. However, Blandisi delivered an over-the-top performance in his unnecessary attempt to sell the call with a delayed dive in the wrong direction, throwing his arms up in the air for good measure.
Instead of a 5-on-4 power play for the Devils, both teams skated with one man down for the next two minutes. Blandisi won't be winning any Oscars for this one.
The Flyers beat the Devils 6-3.
