Kobe Bryant dislocated his right middle finger in the late stages of Friday night's Los Angeles Lakers game against San Antonio, but continued playing after he had a trainer pop it back into place.
It happened with under 2:30 left in the fourth quarter as Bryant slipped while trying to grab a rebound. Bryant put his right hand out to stop himself from falling, but his hand got caught in a weird position and his finger popped right out.
Bryant went to the bench immediately, and Lakers trainer Gary Vitti popped the finger back into place. Bryant continued to play, and actually made his next shot from the floor.
Bryant finished the game with 25 points, but the Lakers lost to the Spurs 119-113. According to a Lakers spokesman, X-rays on Bryant's hand came back negative, so he doesn't expect to miss any time. With this being his final season, Bryant wants to make sure he can finish it out without any more major injuries.
