San Diego Padres pitcher James Shields celebrated a batting pratice home run in an organized team competition with an over-the-top bat flip.
Shields showed bunt as the pitch was thrown before going yard. Shields felt confident the ball was going out, so he threw the bat way up in the air.
We can't see from the video where it landed, but it probably came down somewhere near second base. We'll never see that in a game, as would be incredibly irresponsible and dangerous. It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt.
