New Orleans Pelicans center Kendrick Perkins was ejected from Friday night's game against Portland for taking down Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard with a vicious clothesline.
Perkins became angry when he was pushed in the back by Trail Blazers center Mason Plumlee while trying to grab a rebound on a free throw attempt with eight minutes left in the fourth quarter. Moments later, Lillard tried to drive by Perkins when the big man wrapped his right arm around Lillard's neck and took him down.
Needless to say, that type of behavior is frowned upon in the NBA, especially when it happens to one of the league's young superstars. Perkins was given a flagrant 2 foul and tossed from the game.
Lillard was OK to continue, and he finished the game with 33 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the Trail Blazers to a 117-112 win over the Pelicans.
