LeBron James became agitated during a postgame interview following Monday night's win over Denver when asked a question about why he unfollowed the Cleveland Cavaliers Twitter account.
Not surprisingly, James decided not to answer, simply responding with the standard "Next question". However, the question clearly touched a nerve, as James was so distracted that he couldn't answer the unrelated follow-up, instead choosing to abruptly end the interview with "I'm done."
James had to know that people would notice that he unfollowed the Twitter account of the team that he plays for, and that it was likely someone would ask him about it. He may have a perfectly good reason for unfollowing the account. Maybe James doesn't find the @Cavs account that interesting, or maybe he finds it too distracting. It's his choice, and it's LeBron's prerogative whether he wants to share his reasons with us or not. However, you have to wonder why James would become so upset with being asked about it that he chose to end the interview. Is there something bigger going on here?
Note that this all happened after James skipped the opportunity to speak to reporters at shootaround, the first time he had done so on a day where he wasn't sick or taking a day off since returning to the Cavs two years ago. That media session would have been his first opportunity to speak to the Cleveland media since losing to the Miami Heat, his old team, by 21 points on Saturday night.
If something was bothering him, James certainly didn't let it show on the court, as he led the way against the Nuggets with 33 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists. It also should be noted that the Cavs still have the best record in the Eastern Conference with a 50-20 record, so overall the team is in a good place. However, the team wouldn't be where they are without LeBron, and since the possibility exists that he could leave once the season ends, it has everyone in Cleveland on edge.
