New York Islanders head coach Jack Capuano was accidentally drilled in the nose by a deflected puck during the third period of Game 1 of their NHL second round playoff series against Tampa Bay.
It happened at the 8:29 mark as Lightning center Alex Killorn was attempting to send the puck down into the Islanders zone from center ice. The puck appeared to be deflected by Islanders forward Ryan Strome and headed straight into the Islanders bench, and Capuano had absolutely no time to react.
Capuano left the bench and headed to the locker room for treatment, but fortunately was able to return to the bench for the final few minutes of the period, albeit with a bit of a black eye.
The Islanders won the game 5-3 to take a 1-0 series lead.
