St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Matt Holliday nearly hit the home plate umpire with a bat flip gone wrong during Saturday's game in San Diego.
It happened the top of the sixth as Holliday drew a walk with ball four. Holliday tried to toss his bat towards the dugout, but the bat remained stuck to his glove for an extra fraction of a second, resulting in the bat heading straight up in the air and home plate umpire Tim Timmons ducking for cover.
Clearly Holliday didn't mean any harm, but maybe next time he should use a little less Stickum on his gloves.
